Terms & Conditions for Accepting Trip Offers

1. Definitions

  1. Trip Offer means an opportunity presented to a Driver/User to accept a trip request.

  2. Driver means the user who accepts and fulfills trip offers.

  3. Passenger means the user requesting transportation via the platform.

  4. Platform refers to Catchalift App and any associated services or interfaces.

2. Eligibility & Account

  1. Users must register with accurate and up-to-date information.

  2. Drivers must hold valid local licenses, permits, and any required insurance or approvals.

  3. The Platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts if requirements are not met.

3. Accepting Trip Offers

  1. Drivers may accept or decline a Trip Offer at their sole discretion.

  2. By accepting a Trip Offer, the Driver agrees to transport the Passenger safely, promptly, and professionally according to the pickup and drop-off instructions.

  3. Once accepted, the Driver must not cancel except for approved valid reasons (e.g. safety, mechanical issue). Repeated cancellations may lead to penalties or suspension.

4. Responsibilities of the Driver

  1. Arrive at the pickup location in a timely manner and contact the Passenger if running late.

  2. Ensure the vehicle is clean, maintained, and ready for transport.

  3. Follow all applicable traffic laws and regulations.

  4. Respect Passenger well-being and privacy; no unauthorized detours, recordings, or data sharing.

5. Fare Payment, Fees & Processing Charges

  1. Fares will be calculated as per the Platform’s current pricing policy and displayed prior to trip confirmation.

  2. A standard 20% processing fee is charged by the Platform on the value of every accepted and completed Trip Offer.

  3. Drivers will receive the net amount of the fare after deduction of the processing fee.

  4. The Platform reserves the right to adjust processing fees, pricing structures, or payment methods, with notice provided in the app or via email.

  5. Any applicable taxes, levies, or third-party payment gateway charges will be borne by the Driver or Passenger, as determined by applicable law.

6. Cancellations, No-shows & Refunds

  1. If a Passenger cancels before Driver arrival, cancellation fees may apply as outlined by the Platform.

  2. If a Driver cancels without valid reasons after accepting, the Driver may incur a penalty or temporary suspension.

  3. In the event of a no-show or incomplete trip, fare adjustments or refunds will be handled per Platform policy.

7. Ratings, Reviews & Performance

  1. After each trip, both Passenger and Driver may rate their experience.

  2. Drivers must maintain minimum performance standards (e.g. average rating, acceptance rate).

  3. Poor performance or violation of conduct may result in warnings, suspension or termination of Driver privileges.

8. Liability & Indemnification

  1. The Driver is responsible for all operations, driving conduct, vehicle compliance, and liability arising from the trip.

  2. The Platform disclaims liability for injury, damages, or losses resulting from the Driver’s conduct or the Passenger’s behaviour.

  3. Drivers agree to indemnify and hold the Platform harmless from liability, claims, or costs arising from acceptance and completion of Trip Offers.

9. Insurance & Safety

  1. Drivers must carry required insurance and maintain compliance with local legal standards.

  2. Drivers agree to comply with all safety regulations, use safe driving practices, and report incidents or accidents promptly to the Platform.

10. Privacy & Data Use

  1. The Platform collects personal data from Drivers and Passengers to operate services.

  2. User data will be used in accordance with the Platform’s Privacy Policy, including ride tracking, payment processing, communications, and dispute resolution.

11. Termination or Suspension

  1. The Platform reserves the right to suspend or terminate any Driver account for policy violations, misconduct, or non-compliance.

  2. Drivers may also close their accounts at any time, but must fulfil any trips accepted but not yet completed, unless agreed otherwise.

12. Changes to Terms

  1. The Platform may revise these Terms at any time. Updates will be effective upon posting in-app or online.

  2. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the platform is operated.

  2. Disputes shall be resolved through informal negotiation, mediation, or binding arbitration as described in the Platform’s policies.
